Orleans CDC SHRC

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Self-Help Resource Center (Orleans CDC SHRC), in partnership with the Pro Bono Project, provides free legal information and assistance to individuals in Orleans Parish who are representing themselves in civil court. The center provides assistance with court forms, guidance on court procedures, and resources to help prepare for hearings. Both in-person and virtual services are available.It operates in-person at the courthouse on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Services & Eligibility

The Orleans Parish CDC Self-Help Center is available to income-eligible self-represented litigants in Orleans Parish with civil legal issues such as divorce, custody, and domestic violence. It is designed for people who do not have a lawyer and need help understanding the legal process. The center provides legal information—not legal advice. Income eligibility is generally up to 200% of the federal poverty level.
